ACS WASC is a world-renowned accrediting association and one of the six regional accrediting agencies in the United States. It provides assistance to schools worldwide, especially in California, Hawaii, Guam, Asia, the Pacific Region, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The organization has worked with over 5,200 public, independent, church-related, and proprietary pre-K–12 and adult schools. It also works with 20 associations in joint accreditation processes, and collaborates with other organizations such as the California Department of Education (CDE).
ACS WASC advances and validates quality ongoing school improvement by supporting its private and public elementary, secondary, and postsecondary member institutions to engage in a rigorous and relevant self-evaluation and peer review process that focuses on student learning. Their mission is built on 3 beliefs: a school’s goal is successful student learning, each school has a clear purpose and school-wide learner outcomes, and each school engages in collaborative self-reflection and analysis to assess progress in achieving its mission, vision, and school-wide learner outcomes.
